Driving directions from Reykavik:
Take Road 1 to Borgarnes. On the way you’ll drive through
the Hvalfjordur tunnel (toll gate). As you leave Borgarnes, take
the second exit from the round-about onto Road 54. Stay on Road
54 till you come to the junction of Road 54 and Road 574. Make
a left turn onto Road 574 and drive for 19 km till you see the
Hellnar sign. Make a left turn down to Hellnar. Once down the
hill, make the first left turn, drive past the Snaefellsjokull
National Park’s Visitor Centre and the church, and then
make a right turn into the driveway of Hotel Hellnar.
Travelling time:
About 50 min to Borgarnes from Reykjavik – about 1 hour and 25 min from
Borgarnes to Hellnar.
